GM Early Years App - Your child’s developmental assessments online

The health visiting service for children in Greater Manchester is changing. The developmental assessment forms for children aged 0 - 2.5 years old have moved online.

The assessment forms were previously completed on paper, but you can now access them via a web browser link or by downloading the GM Early Years App on your smartphone. This will help to ensure children are developing as expected and are provided with additional support when needed.

For parents and carers, it will:

  • Make it easy to access and complete forms on your mobile, tablet or computer - no longer will you need to worry about losing or forgetting the paper forms.
  • Provide videos and other guidance to support your child’s development.
  • Give you online access to your child’s development records whenever you need them.
  • Enable your health visitor to share documents with you through the App

The Early Years project is a partnership between the NHS in Greater Manchester, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Local Authorities across the city-region.

What is the Early Years App?

How do I access the GM Early Years App?

A member of your health visiting team will get in touch with you to confirm your email address and mobile phone number. You will then receive an email and text message with a link to create your account.

Part of the account creation process involves creating an NHS login for security purposes. This will involve verifying your email address, mobile phone number and creating a password. You will also be required to prove your identity by sending a photo of your ID or by providing registration details you may have been given when registering with GP services. You only have to do this once and you will be able to use your NHS login to access other health websites and apps wherever you see ‘NHS login’, including the GM Early Years App.

You will receive an email from the NHS once they have verified your details. You will then be able to log in to the GM Early Years App and access your child’s development records.
